Premonition

Samantha had a restless night, well not a single one but for the past few nights, she would wake up in the middle of the night and just lie in a sort of unexplained stupor. Well, last night was no different. Neither did she want to leave her bed nor did sleep come to her. When it was time to wake up , she just rolled over in her bed, determined to call sick at work. Then, she changed her mind. She wanted to go, but what was holding her back??? She too couldn't put a finger on it. Anyways, she made and remade quite a few decisions and decided to foot it down to the gym. She was going to the gym after a prolonged period of self imposed - lazy absence. Well once on to the treadmill, she started getting positive by the minute. In fact she smiled and laughed and made small talk with instructors, even with her superior who frequented the gym with her husband everyday. Such was the back slapping bonhomie, that all feelings were delegated to the furthest point of her mind. Samantha was h...

The secret

“No feeling is final.” -Rainer Maria Rilke Most of the time, when we feel something overwhelming, it’s not just the feeling that weighs on us; it’s also the fear that it may persist. That the deep sense of loss or longing will burrow a permanent hole in our hearts and we’ll never feel loved again. Or the disappointment will harden into an aching regret and we’ll never feel proud and excited again. Or the sadness will etch itself into our being and we’ll never feel happy again. But everything eventually transforms. Happiness gives way to sadness gives way to happiness again. It’s a constant cycle we can’t ever pause. Even if we decide to avoid change at all costs, change will eventually find us. Today if you feel something you wish would go away, know that you won’t need to carry the weight of it forever. You just need to find the strength and patience to get through the difficult days as the feelings transform.

I was reading...

A few moments ago I read a beautiful line " Life is meant for living..." and it set off my thoughts. Yes of course life is meant for living it, not fighting it as no one has survived to see the results! Sad yet true, in this race for life, to achieve, this, to achieve that... we are always trying to run a marathon against time, against life to achieve either name, fame, glory or all. Age old proverbs, like the grass is greener on the other side - are good enough for seremonizing but not good enough to put in practice. The simple fact that one is hale, hearty and living has no meaning in today's context, apparently. We need blogs, may be like this to remind ourselves to do the good deed for the day, to appreciate and love our family unconditionally, yes unconditionally, cause when you have expectations and personal agendas, read ulterior motives behind your sweet talk, believe me you are in for a whole round of nasty surprises. Do your work, your job and carry on with your...

I'd rather not...

A real diplomat is one who can cut his neighbor's throat without having his neighbor notice it. ~ Trygve Lie OMG! this was the first thought which came to mind on reading this quotation; the next thought was are diplomats really that bad or every second throat cutting individual is a diplomat trying to survive in this jungle of the world where the law of "survival of the fittest" still holds true! Thank God for exceptions, and hope theybecome the genralizations - well atleast for such examples or shall i say proverbs.
