Plants in our Homes
Plants have been an integral part of our lives. Glossy, luxurious , healthy plants need not be limited to outdoor spaces- our gardens - lawns, balconies or terraces; the indoor variety of plants can enhance the aesthetics or beauty of each and everyroom of our home! We feel calm, peaceful and invigorated in presence of living plants. They not only improve the quality ofair but go a long way in improving our mood and reducing stress. What with people working from home now a days it seems astute to have indoor plants.
Cleaning agents and many other indoor objects give off pollutants called volatile organic compounds (VOCs). They can build up in the air and make it hard for you to breathe, they can trigger allergies or asthama! Houseplants can soak up the VOCs. Some good air-scrubbers are Aloe Vera, Snake plant, Spider plant, Bamboo plant etc
Decorate your home with small potted plants or fresh seasonal flowers. Play with lights - diffused, warm or bright; then click photographs of your home decorated with living plant or flowers interspersed with furniture, rugs or statement pieces.
A beautiful, cozy nook in any room of your home can be transformed by a splash of vivid colours of flowers or shiny green foliage of indoor plants.
We have always made use of flowers for decorating our homes to mark special ocassions and festivals. There are innumerable ways by which flowers can increase the style quotient of any room. Long stemmed roses in crystal vase or a pot of peace lilies or a strategically placed urn with floating candles interspersed with flowers of your choice or simple rose petals will totally tranform a room!
