Take everything in your stride

Image
Here’s kind of taking every thing in your stride. Hey but it’s easier said than done. It takes eons of time to to get over any pain just like the time you take to dry after being in the rain - figuratively speaking. But then isn’t every thing in life dependent on attitude and ones perspective. A positive attitude can overcome all the hurdles of life. It can breach the most depressive of climes; But it does take a toll. Nothing is ever attained, achieved or got for free; however do remember that every cloud does have a silver lining, The silver lining, the happiness, the pleasures of life are all the more significant due to the darkness or sadness endured at an earlier timeo

Plants in our Homes

Image
Plants have been an integral part of our lives. Glossy, luxurious , healthy plants need not be limited to outdoor spaces- our gardens - lawns, balconies or terraces; the indoor variety of plants can enhance the aesthetics or beauty of each and everyroom of our home! We feel calm, peaceful and invigorated in presence of living plants. They not only improve the quality ofair but go a long way in improving our mood and reducing stress. What with people working from home now a days it seems astute to have indoor plants. Cleaning agents and many other indoor objects give off pollutants called volatile organic compounds (VOCs). They can build up in the air and make it hard for you to breathe, they can trigger allergies or asthama! Houseplants can soak up the VOCs. Some good air-scrubbers are Aloe Vera, Snake plant, Spider plant, Bamboo plant etc Decorate your home with small potted plants or fresh seasonal flowers. Play with lights - diffused, warm or bright; then click photographs of your...

Image
The Covid Conspiracy Theories In India The world has been caught in the throes of the Covid Pandemic for the last couple of years. Collaborative contemplation, research and development of vaccines based on the limited knowledge of the causative agent -the Coronavirus was done globally as well as indigenously in India in an effort to curb the pandemic and create community immunity, Effect of Covid in India India, the second most affected country by the pandemic globally, had the ensuing lockdowns, guidelines, mandates and immunization drive in response to the Covid ! Moreover, in India we not only suffered the loss of precious human lives but were vulnerable to severe economic repercussions brought on by the two lockdowns that formed a part of containment measures of the disease. My playing of piano

Image
My life-changing experience  School life was filled with marvellous and glorious moments. It was not about academics only but also about sports , learning to dance, spending humongous amount of time in the library and the best thing of all was learning to play the piano. How had learning to play the piano caught my fancy , no one knew or questioned it for that matter; it was sufficient that I wanted to learn it and so it was effectuated.  My first teacher was a gentle French nun who was called Sister Mary – reverently. A gentle soul who helped me plod along all the basic scales , C major onwards. The constant playing and replaying of scales on a loop , called practising was down right tedious . As resolute  Sister Mary was about beginning every piano lesson with the oh so monotonous scales, I was equally det...

Space opera Universe- Are we oblivious to the fact that we might as well be living in one?

Space opera Universe- Are we oblivious to the fact that we might as well be living in one? Samantha woke up to the swishing sound of her cleaning robot which was programmed to carry out its function at a particular time of the day irrespective of the events unfolding around it. On looking out the window of her climate controlled home she saw empty streets as far as her eyes could see. Wait what was that? A lone bird flying through the empty streets. She was confused for a second as to where she was, in another realm or very much down on earth in the city of Zikaria somewhere in the Middle East bordering an European country.  She and her husband both worked with a media conglomerate, her husband a renowned photographer was away covering the nearby human conflict or shall we say the war. No amount of sophisticated drones, camera lens or the ultimate processors and apps could hide or change the pain ravaged faces of the migrants, orphans or the bleak environment caused by destr...

Jai Ho ...

I had made this video last year in July’20 .  https://youtu.be/NkpElJsjsZs However, with the mutation and variation in the COVID-19 virus we have been thrust into another lockdown pan India. There are so many reasons other than the mutant virus itself ,which has spread to prodigious numbers, infecting entire families unlike the last time, are lockdown fatigue, denial, complacency to name a few. Hence the age old adage for diseases still holds true “Prevention is better than Cure” consequently we are faced with another Lockdown in terms of tangible meetings and assemblage. Moreover, the indispensables required for life - air, water, light and the Sun are not locked down Keeping a positive ( a much maligned word these days) outlook - it’s a kind of gift of time to explore and enhance one’s inherent talents and abilities and make the most of them! Jai Ho! Carry on with every bit of positivity that you can garner, this too shall pass ...

Vimal stayed with his parents and grandparents in a big enough flat in Mumbai. Last week most of his college friends had gathered together to play football at Juhu beach. Well, good enough nothing happened to anyone of them even after a couple of days. Hence the next outing  was assiduously planned. This time all ten friends were going out for dinner at one high end restaurant . All of them had a wonderful time that night, nearly after more than a year of isolation.  Things were hunky-dory for a day or two after the enjoyable dinner with friends’. However, on the third morning, his beloved grandmother complained of pain in her knees, elbows, shoulders; a vibrant lady who moved around the house doing odd chores with gusto, she was lethargic throughout the morning and during the afternoon was found sleeping on her bed - a first!  By evening Vimal’s grandfather too went to bed after an early dinner. Seeing this, Vimal’s dad - Mehul contacted the family physician . Aft...
